About our home

Our home is a large luxurious life-style residence on the banks of the Waikato River with gorgeous rural views, yet only a short distance to the main centre of Hamilton and airport. The home's interior consists of lovely sunny living areas, kitchen with all mod cons, five large bedrooms (two with en-suites) and office with air-conditioning and heating throughout. The outoors provides a tranquil escape and children's paradise. We have an infinity swimming pool (with hydro-slide) and spa pool, both overlooking the tennis court, large grounds, river and farmland beyond. Outdoor entertainment is also enhanced by a large trampoline, two-storey play house, flying fox, monkey bars, wrap-around decks, a gas-fired BBQ and a wood-fired BBQ/pizza oven area. Access to a car is also a possibility.

The family also has access to a three-bedroom beach property in Cooks Beach, Coromandel, a beautiful white sand beach community (2 hours drive from Hamilton and within a few minutes drive from tourist destinations such as Hot Water Beach, Whitianga, Hahei and Cathedral Cove).

We are actively seeking a swap for September/October 2019 in Southern France and/or England. We are open to a direct swap at that time or for time during January (the peak of our Summer).

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Hamilton is central to all North Island tourist destinations including Raglan, Cambridge, Auckland, Rotorua, Taupo (Mount Ruapehu), Tauranga, Coromandel (Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach, Whitianga, Hahei).

Buzzy restaurants
The vibrant café and bar scene is making a name for itself, and plentiful open spaces mean the city is an easy place to spend time in. The city is also rapidly gaining a reputation as a business hub for creativity and innovation as well as a destination for world-class international, national and local events.
Retail therapy
If shopping is on the agenda visitors can take their pick from some of the country’s best fashion designers and stock up on gifts, whether from European-style Casabella Lane and a gallery selling the works of local artists and craftspeople to New Zealand’s largest shopping complex, The Base. Surrounding towns also have regular artisian and/or farmers' markets.
Bit of culture
Arts and culture form an important part of the city’s makeup with the Waikato Museum paying homage to Hamilton’s past and the present through its exhibitions. Hamilton is also only a short drive from Rotorua (NZs cultural mecca).
Walks in the park
Hamilton Gardens is a must see!
Spot of exercise
Hamilton and Waikato is New Zealand's Cycling and Walking Track Heartland. Whether hurtling down forest-clad hills or meandering alongside winding rivers and through rolling farmland, the region’s tracks and trails offer memorable experiences for riders of all fitness and skill levels.
Day tripping
Hamilton’s location makes it the perfect departure point for a New Zealand excursion. Along with being within a couple of hours’ driving distance from some of the North Island’s most popular tourist spots (including Auckland, Rotorua and Tauranga), it is also surrounded by a number of cool day-trip destinations including: Waitomo's Gloworm Caves, Hobbiton (Middle Earth) Movie Set, Cambridge (the Town of Champions), Raglan Beachside Surf Town, Otorohanga Kiwi House and Native Park
