About our home
Our home is a large two-storyed family home with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. It is a very warm, sunny home with large windows and gas central heating for the winter. We have two large decks, a jacuzzi and lovely lake and mountain views.
Upstairs, the main bedroom has a king size bed and an ensuite - doors open from this bedroom onto the deck and jacuzzi, and the bedroom has nice views back across town. There are two other bedrooms on the top floor with the main bathroom between them. Also on this level is the main open plan living and dining area which open onto decks at either side of the house (one gets the morning sun, the other the afternoon sun), an office and the kitchen. We have recently renovated our home and it has a large, modern kitchen with dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven, microwave, and fridge/freezer.
Downstairs there are two bedrooms both with their own ensuites. There is also the laundry and a well-equipped games room with table tennis table, air hockey, foosball, piano and many toys.
We also have a jetski and two vehicles available for your use.

More about us

We are a family of five - Alan(46), Kay(42), Hannah(13), Liam(10) & Nathan(8). Alan & Kay own a financial planning business in Taupo. We are very active and enjoy many outdoor activities including golf, tennis, biking, skiing, hockey and soccer and Hannah is a tap dancer.
We are taking a year off work to travel with our children. We are leaving New Zealand in March 2007 and returning at the end of January 2008. We are arriving in Europe around May 2007 and are particularly interested in visiting Spain around June, London, England in July and the south of France after that.
We have two vehicles (a family car & a 7 seater 4WD) available to use. We have many friends in Taupo who would welcome you and help you when needed.
We have two friendly cats, Milly & Pepper, (whom we can arrange to stay elsewhere if needed) and a small but pretty garden.

Where is it?
Neighbourhood
Taupo is a small picturesque town of 25,000 nestled on the edge of Lake Taupo in the centre of the North Island of New Zealand. It is a popular holiday destination for trout fishing, skiing (ski fields are 1 1/2 hours drive), mountain biking, golfing, water skiing and tramping. There are many walking tracks around the lake and longer tramping routes nearby. Taupo has 4 golf courses (2 international courses)and many adventure activities, eg jet boating, skydiving, kayaking, gliding. We are a two hour drive from the vineyard area of Hawkes Bay and 1 1/2 hours from some beautiful white sandy beaches.
The central north island of New Zealand is a geothermal area and Taupo has hot pools and geothermal walks.
There are many good restaurants, bars and cafes, a cinema, a theatre and events centre. There are many sporting facilities and a small airport.
Our house is 3km from the centre of town and within walking distance of the lake. We are also within walking distance of primary and secondary schools and the hospital.
