We offer a beautiful clean and spacious executive home in an up market suburb of Tauranga in the sunny Bay of Plenty, North Island, New Zealand. We have four bedrooms, two with double beds, one with a single bed and the master with a super king size bed and en-suite bathroom. The master bedroom is extra large and bi-fold doors open onto the outside paved courtyard There is two living rooms, one with a sofa where 2 people can sleep and a galley kitchen where all the family can eat. It's a very big comfortable family home with carpets and curtains throughout. There is a double-sided gas fireplace in the family and formal living rooms. The kitchen/dining/family rooms are all open plan and flow nicely to the outdoor paved courtyard. The main bathroom has a very relaxing bath, a large glassed and tiled shower, his and hers hand basins and a toilet. The garage has an automatic door opener and internal access to the house. The laundry is in the garage and there is an extra fridge and freezer in the garage also. Surrounding homes are of the same high quality and our neighbours are excellent and always helpful if needed.
We have a four year old grey cat called Miyah who comes with the house and will need to be fed. She makes herself very scarce so you won't see much of her except for when she is hungry. If you are not into cats we can have our neighbours feed her.
We are Carol and Gary, a fit and healthy, active young couple - Gary 50 me 52.. Our daughter and son-in-law have recently returned from Cambridge UK and have just had their first child who will almost be one when we travel. We will all be travelling together.. Gary and I are both professionals - I am a real estate agent of 8 years and Gary a government employee of 34 years - Senior Compliance Officer with the Ministry for Primary Industries (he has appeared on many Coast Watch television programmes that are aired in New Zealand and Australia). Luke is in the building industry and Morgan is a stay at home mum beginning a long distance University degree in 2017.
We enjoy travelling when we can and completed our first home exchange to Yarmouth UK March 2015. We enjoyed our house swap experience. It's a great way to see another country as a resident - and to allow others to see ours. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay.
Situated in what was once farmland, our home is in a new subdivision amongst homes of similar high quality. An 8 minute car ride has you in the Central Business and shopping district. The bus stops directly across the road and we are also just a 5 minute car ride from Bethlehem Town Centre. Or if you are into wine, we are a 15 minute walk from Mills Reef Winery where you can taste wine or dine. And if your timing is right you may even be able to attend a concert here.
A 15 minute car ride will have you at the beautiful beaches of Mount Maunganui - famous for surfing, swimming, fishing or just walking around the Mount. And for those who are adventurous you can also walk up the Mount for breath-taking views of the Bay. There are plenty of restaurants, cafe's and shops to suit everyone's taste.
Tauranga http://www.bayofplentynz.com. We are a 45 minute drive to the Hobbiton movie set in Matamata website http://www.hobbitontours.com and we are one hour from Rotorua NZ's thermal wonderland http://www.rotorua.nz.com
Ideally located as a touring base, our town offers easy access to Rotorua, Kati Kati (mural town), Te Puke (kiwi fruit country) to name a few. Our largest city Auckland is a 3 hour drive north. Fine dining can be had at our city's many restaurants or cafe's, visit the art gallery or the arts and crafts centre on the water front, cruise the harbour or enjoy a fishing charter and catch a fish or two. Our city is a great place to relax or have fun whether you are 5 or 105!
