About our home

A new, two level limestone home situated along the banks of the Clutha River.(Finishing touches will be completed by October,2011)Fully carpeted. Large kitchen with butlers pantry. Sunny breakfast room, cosy family room and large formal dining/lounge downstairs with views of river. Office and utility room complete the ground floor. Upstairs bedrooms with en-suites and balcony. Separate sitting room with TV/Sky.
House is set in a large tranquil garden along the river where we fish for salmon and trout. There is an adjoining apricot orchard.
Ideal for those who want peace and quiet.... writers, artists.....

  1. We are retired secondary school teachers who have taught in Canada, USA, UK and in the International School system in China and Turkey. We love travelling and meeting those of other cultures. Colin enjoys woodwork. Ruth is passionate about Ikebana and travels overseas to pursue this hobby.
    Private house-sitting in London on three separate trips to UK has encouraged us to open up our home to fellow travellers.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The country house is 5 km from Millers Flat which has a small local store and public swimming pool. Roxburgh, 12 km away has a supermarket, petrol station, small museum, bus services and cafes, movie theatre, walking tracks and a very good golf course.
Alexandra which lies 40 minutes north is a large centre servicing the farming, viticulture and tourist industries.
Dunedin city to the east is 1 1/2 hours away and is known as the Edinburgh of the south.
Christchurch, NZ's second largest city is 6 1/2 hours away.
