About our home

Our well-insulated home has 4 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Downstairs there is a separate lounge, separate TV room (with 40inch LCD TV and Sky TV - Digital Satellite) with a log fire, and open plan kitchen/dining room. The kitchen has all modern appliances. Our house is heated mainly by a heat pump and log fire. Outside we have a small garden, lawn and BBQ area. We also have wireless internet.

More about us

We are Denis (Health and Safety Manager) & Sandy (PA in a school office) are in our late 40's, have 2 children at university and one still at high school, graduating the end of 2011. We are just starting our travel experiences now the children are just about off our hands and are ticking off our 'bucket list'. We have been in our home for 25 years, so like it here. Our next preferred destination is New York (September 2010).

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Our house is approx. 500m from Caroline Bay, a safe swimming, sandy beach. Over the Christmas holiday period, there is a carnival at the bay with amusement park rides, side shows, and outdoor amphitheatre. Our house is also approx. 500m from the city shopping, movie theatre, cafes and restaurants. We live in a safe community with a large variety of sporting facilities including tennis courts, swimming pools, cycleways, mountainbike tracks, walkways, netball and basketball courts etc. We live approx. 144km (1 1/2 hours) from Christchurch International airport. The surrounding district boasts numerous ski fields, golf courses, lakes, native bush walks, native rock drawings, art galleries, boutique cheese factories etc.
