About our home

Our holiday cottage is in the McKenzie country near Mt Cook. Weather is sunny and warm September through to April. We would consider a non simultaneous second home provided it is not in an isolated location and warm and sunny in May June or July 2012 with a good bed, comfortable chairs and television.

Our holiday home is situated in a quiet cul de sac 2 minutes walk to the shops and restaurants, 2 minutes walk to the golf course and 5 minutes walk to the swimming pool. 5 minutes drive to Lake Ruataniwha.

We have large trees to sit under in the heat of the day and there is plenty of room for the children to play on the section. The home is easy to heat on cool evenings and has a lovely covered veranda to enjoy the early mornings and late evenings.

If you are wanting peace and quiet with a focus on fishing or hiking then the house has all you need for a comfortable laid back holiday.

We have three bedrooms, one with kingsize bed, one with double bed and one with twin singles. Separate lounge with television (2 divans in lounge), separate kitchen, electric range, microwave, automatic washing machine in laundry, shower over bath and separate toilet.

More about us

  1. We (Phil & Barbara) are now in our 60's. We came to live in Wanaka from nearby Invercargill, chiefly for a change of lifestyle and to enjoy the warm dry summers. We both work in real estate and also run a Bed & Breakfast from our home. We have two grown up sons and two grandchildren. We enjoy meeting a variety of people from around the world and travelling. When not working, Phil likes watching sport, walking his Samoyed dog, having a few beers with friends, and playing golf. Barbara gardens, reads, quilts and enjoys her friends when not cooking and cleaning for the B&B guests. We both are thoroughly enjoying our new lifestyle here in Wanaka.
