About our home

We built and have very happily resided in our rural home for 23 years. We re-decorated approx 3 yrs ago. We have 4 spacious bedrooms, two upstairs, comprising 1 double, 1 king with ensuite and two downstairs, comprising 1 king and 1 single share bathroom/toilet. We have a well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar/family room, separate dining room downstairs and TV/lounge upstairs. Three of the four bedrooms have harbour views. There is a separate laundry with auto washing machine and dryer. Outside are lawns, gardens, vege garden area and two orchards.

More about us

We are a middle-aged couple and run our own electrical contracting business. We have enjoyed many overseas holidays and are familiar with the needs of travellers. We do not have children, we have three fur-kids (two big senior cats and one little junior cat). We enjoy our rural lifestyle with close proximity to the city when we desire it! Our hobbies are our lifestyle block, gardening, fishing and boating. We are involved in various community activities.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We are located in rural Franklin District, 20 mins drive from either Pukekohe or Papakura. Auckland City is approx 40-50 minutes' drive and Auckland International Airport is approx 40-45 minutes' drive. We are a 10 acre lifestyle block in Waiau Pa which is a friendly rural community. Our property overlooks the Manukau Harbour. We feel very blessed in that we are located between Auckland's two harbours, Manukau to the west and Hauraki Gulf to the east. Many boating activities can be enjoyed on Auckland's Hauraki Gulf including visits to Auckland's numerous offshore islands. Auckland is 'The City of Sails'. We are approx 20 mins to the motorway (SH1) for travellers heading north or south. Rail transport to Auckland City is available from either Pukekohe or Papakura. Ten minutes' drive from us is Clarks Beach on the shores of the Manukau Harbour. Clarks Beach Golf Course is very popular with wonderful views of the harbour. 'Chin Wags' restaurant can be found at Clarks Beach - our personal favourite. The owner/chef at Chin Wags has won numerous beef and lamb awards. A highly recommended drive is the Awhitu Peninsular, in particular, to the Regional Park. The park also overlooks the Manukau Harbour and has a wonderful safe beach - our personal favourite spot when we go boating from home. There are many beaches to visit on the harbour side of the Awhitu Peninsular including Grahams and Hudsons. In summer the pohutukawa trees in bloom throughout this region are a sight to behold.
