About our home

Our home is a light filled beautifully built house in a unique and private setting. You feel instantly peaceful when you enter this house. The bathroom and kitchen are modern. The verandah juts out into the bush with resident wood pigeons, tuis and all fabulous bird life all around. We wake to birdsong. Through the trees you can get a glimse of the sea which is a 10 min walk. We can see the stars from our bed through a skylight. It's mod and comfortably furnished.

Where is it?

The island has some of the most beautiful beaches in the Auckland region and the swimming is fabulous and safe.
From time to time we see dolphins swimming in the bays.
Nearby is a forest with a special viewing platform for Kauri trees. At the top of the hill is a great view of farmlands. There are shops, wineshop and garage nearby as well as a couple of restaurants on the beach serving all day and night. This is a unique island life with small villages dotted here and there. The Saturday morning market is a weekly highlight and it retains a community feeling... all this only 35 mins by ferry from Auckland City.
