About our home

Situated in a popular ski resort and summer town, Wanaka is home to 7000 residents and boasts the most beautiful lake and mountain views imaginable. Recently named as one of the top ten world-wide holiday destinations, the Wanaka locals are not at all surprised.

The lake is perfect for swimming in the summer and is only a 2 minute drive, or 20 minute walk away. To reach the Wanaka township from the cottage, choose between a 30 minute lakeside walk or a 3 minute drive.

During the summer and autumn, vegetables, fruit and nuts are plentiful in the garden. Depending on the time of year, help yourselves to herbs, feijoas, walnuts, and more.

More about us

  1. We have one adult daughter and we (her parents) are both in our 50s. Pete is a business owner and Lynne is a music summit director. We enjoy snowboarding, gardening, furniture-building, music, vineyards, cooking and eating! We are keen for home exchanges in Europe, South America and Oceania. The exchange need not be simultaneous as we have a self-contained 2-bedroom cottage on the property which is totally set up for visitors.
We have enjoyed ten wonderful home exchanges - all around the world. We love taking care of any pets, and will always take the utmost care of your property.

Where is it?

Within a very close distance are stunning lakeside walking tracks, a golf course, stylish restaurants, vineyards, pools and adventure activities. In the winter, three skifields are only a 30 minute drive away. Less than an hour's drive away is Queenstown, one of the world's most famous tourist destinations.

The closest airport is Wanaka Airport (10 minute drive) but more commonly used is Queenstown Airport (55 minute drive), Dunedin Airport (3 to 4 hour drive) or Christchurch Airport (4 to 5 hour drive). A rental car is advisable.
