About our home

We live in beautiful 1920s bungalow in the suburb of Hatatai. We are 5 minutes from the central city in one direction and 5 minutes to the the airport in the opposite direction. Our home is very private and we have an idyllic setting out the back where you can relax and enjoy our garden. There are four bedrooms, a formal lounge with original oak panelling, a family room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and laundry. You can sleep up to 8 people comfortably.

More about us

Geof and I live in this home with our two adult daughters. In 2010, Geof and I are planning a trip to Europe to celebrate my 50th with some very close friends. I have never been to Paris and want to spend a little time there and then further south. There may be an opportunity for us to travel throught to Spain or Portugal, if homes become available. Geof and I will be travelling with our friends on and off during September/October 2010. We are all professional couples and every couple of years get together as a group to celebrate our friendship. We are hoping that part of this holiday we will be able to swap our home with someone in either France, Spain or Porgugal and in turn they can experience a taste of New Zealand whilst staying in our home.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Hataitai is the suburb we live in, which is within walking distance to the city and only minutes to the Wellington airport. Our street is also on a popular bus route to the city, the airport and further north from Wellington. We have beaches only minutes from our home that are great for surfing, and in the warmer months swimming. The harbour is just over the hill which is ideal for boating, kayaking. There are also lovely bush clad hills for walking straight from our home. Wellington is a beautiful city that is surrounded by hills and nestled in a picturesque harbour. Wellington is known for shopping, music, culture and the best coffee in New Zealand. We are gateway to the south island with both ferries and planes departing regularly. There are also beautiful drives within an hour where you can relax on the beautiful Kapiti Coast or across to the Wairarapa which is well known for wine, scenery and music festivals.
