Hidden away in the tree tops for seclusion, sun and privacy, this superb home offers spacious interiors and magnificent harbour views. This 1960s built 2 level house has the sunny open plan living area on the upper level where you enter the house, to maximise the lovely harbour and mountain views. The kitchen is a lovely size with a generous laundry room and separate toilet off of it, and back door opening onto the back garden area. The lounge has two 3 seater leather sofas and one 2 seater leather sofa. The dining area has a large dining table with 6 chairs and lots of children's toys! There is one double bedroom upstairs and a separate study. Downstairs consists of a large master bedroom with King bed, 1 bedroom with bunk beds and 1 bedroom with a cot and single bed. There are also 2 bathrooms downstairs, one has a bath and toilet, the other a shower and toilet. As the house is set up on a hill there are some steps up to it, but the great feature of this house is that it has a cable car to take you from the road to the front door if you don't want to walk up. It is also great for taking the shopping up. Outside there is a fenced flat lawn area in the front and the back garden area has fantastic harbour views. There is a double garage on the road. We have also just bought a lovely 2 bed cottage at Waikane Beach, only a 45 min drive from our house. It is on 935 sqm section and within minutes to a stunning beach.
My husband and I are in our mid thirties and we have 3 young sons aged 6, 4 and 2. My husband works in IT and I work part-time as well as a busy Mum to our 3 lovely boys. We are originally from England and emmigrated to New Zealand almost 5 years ago. We are looking to go to England for 3 weeks in July/August 2009. My husband and 1 of our sons is allergic to cats so we unfortunately can't house swap where there are cats.
Wadestown is one of the most desirable central city suburbs. It is an easy few minutes drive into Wellington City Centre or a lovely walk passing amazing city and harbour views. There is also a bus stop at the end of the road. Wadestown is a lovely quiet and family orientated area with some good walks and superb fully fenced children's park. Wellington City is extremely pretty and the waterfront offers a variety of activities including: helicopter rides, bike riding, inline skating, indoor rock climbing and kayaking. There are lots of cafes and restaurants and a number of Theatres and cinemas providing a variety of entertainment options. It is very easy to drive around Wellington and there are some lovely beaches either in the city centre itself or in the surrounding suburbs. The Interislander Ferry is minutes from us where you can catch the ferry to the South Island. There are also a number of walks and within a 15 minutes drive is Red Rocks Seal Colony where between May and October you can do a walk or drive along rugged coastal scenery and get within meters of Fur Seals.
