About our home

Built as a Doctor's home in the 1920s, this charming 160 sq m Edwardian Style three bedroom / two bathroom home is being extensively refurbished in a style sympathetic with the era. Heat pumps and a log burner keep the home cool in summer and warm in winter; extensive professionally designed and executed landscaping provides easy indoor/outdoor flow and a weather shielded area allows al fresco dining for eight months of the year. The use of a strong, restful colour palette tastefully lit by chandeliers provides a very comfortable living environment. The kitchen / dining and laundry areas are the last to be renovated (awaiting Architect's Plans) and should be completed by March 2020.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

New Plymouth is on the coast and within 15 minutes drive we have Mt Taranaki (2,518 metres); a short flight of 45 minutes will get you to either to Auckland or Wellington by 'plane or alternatively take a scenic four drive by car. We live within a four minute walk from the coast, and the beaches in our area are very well regarded surf beaches - in fact Opunake (40 mins by car) is one of NZ's top surf beaches and Raglan (2 hours by car) has one of the world's great left hand breaks at The Point.

Mt Taranaki offers some excellent hiking trails through the Pouakai Range (https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/.../pouakai-range-tramping-tracks/) and the world renowned Tongariro Crossing (https://www.tongarirocrossing.org.nz/) is three and a half hours drive.

The city is very well provided for in terms of cafés & restaurants, it has a world class Art Gallery (Govett Brewster, The Len Lye Centre), an excellent museum (Puke Ariki), and we have one of the best golf courses (Ngamotu) in NZ.

Buzzy restaurants
Take your pick - we have more cafes and restaurants per capita in New Plymouth than either Auckland or Wellington.
Cool bars
Any number of these as well.
Walks in the park
Pukekura Park is world renowned
