About our home

Our home is a spacious modern version of an English/French country home in a garden setting close to the city. It has modern conveniences and the main bedroom and ensuite are on the ground floor. There are 2 further bedrooms and another bathroom upstairs. There is an office area with computer. There is underfloor heating for cooler days.
The land was once farmed and still retains the wonderful dry stone walls. Cattle graze in the paddocks and native birds inhabit the large trees. It is very restful. Horses are ridden along the road and walkers enjoy the area.
We are happy to exchange cars.

More about us

Ian is a retired farmer and Pam is a part time/nearly retired tutor.
We have family in England as well as New Zealand.
We have exchanged homes before and recently completed a 4 month tour of the U.K. and Mediterranean Europe which was wonderful.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Across the road is a golf course and the city is 7 minutes away by car. The shopping is good and there are many restaurants in the area.
Many overseas yachts use the town basin to winter over and it is very cosmopolitan with boutique shops and restaurants.
Whangarei has a domestic airport, and the International airport is 2 hours drive south in Auckland.
Northland is reknown for having a subtropical climate, with many wonderful beaches. It is an area for recreational and game fishing, diving including the world famous Poor Knights maritime reserve.
It is also gateway to the Bay of Islands gamefishing and scenic area.
