About our home

Our property was built in 2010 and has all the mod cons. Our 4 bedroom house has Double glazed windows to help keep our home warm and dry in the winter and cool in the summer. The inside fire makes it very cosy in the nz winter months with plenty of dry firewood to burn and we have a large games room / garage. We have a outdoor Pizza Oven which overlooks beautiful native bush a stunning sea view over mercury bay. We have a private outdoor shower/bath and a seperate upstairs bathroom which interconnects with the two upstairs bedroom. The modern kitchen has everything you need but hardly gets used by us as we have the BBQ on the deck and Pizza oven as well. We are a 6 minute drive to town centre and a 3 minute drive to the beach. Whitianga has everything is the hub of Mercury Bay with its stunning beaches including Hot Water beach and Cathedral Cove. Search (All about Whitianga ) for more info on what to do in the area. We have a small dog ( bichon frise cross miniature schnauzer) which we can get looked after but are open to anyone interested in looking after her if they wish. We have a selection of cars ( old and new ).

More about us

  1. We are a couple in our 50's. We are now semi-retired. We have recently sold our beach front restaurant / Jazz bar , scenic tour business and gift shop and have settled into our beautiful property which is nestled up in the hills just above the township. For the last two years we have been fixing up the place and making it our own. We have B and B guests staying here in the NZ summer. We like to travel every year from May to November and are open to all offers.

  2. Karen had a retail souvenir and gift shop for the past 18 years ( The Cave ) selling mainly imported products from Bali and Thailand ( which we imported ourselves) and Rob was the driver/owner for Cave Cruzer Adventures. Rob set up Cave Cruzer Adventures back in 1999 and it still operates today under a different owner.

  3. Rob is now setting up a new business showing small groups around the Coromandel taking them land based fishing or on bush walks to some of coromandels stunning secret locations. Rob is also a very accomplished and multi talented musician, playing mainly jazz for weddings on guitar ( solo ) or drums with his band. He also demonstrates a selection of Moari musical instruments for his clients and guests. Karen stays at home mostly and looks after the B and B accomodation which we operate from to November - May and tends to the lovely gardens she has created over the last two years.
