About our home

Our fully carpeted home is comfortable, warm and spacious. It has a new kitchen with all the modern appliances, a dining area, living room and separate lounge. A large tiled sunny patio with BBQ that overlooks the front lawn and gardens onto street. There is a good sized private backyard with vegetable garden and access to next street. One bedroom has a Queen, one a double and the other has two singles. Only one bathroom, but its roomy with a bath and includes a private shower room. Toilet is separate. A large laundry with washing machine and dryer. The house is heated with electric and inbuilt log fire and has a ventilation system installed. The house is only 200m or 2min walk to shops and hotel etc.

More about us

  1. We are being a bit cheeky to be honest. We are a couple, Gordon & Betty wanting to travel to the 2015 Rugby World Cup with two other couples and using London as a base for Sept/Oct for possibly 2-6 weeks. We are looking for one home[3dble B/Rms] for the six of us in exchange for our three homes in NZ. The other two are located in Central Otago, one in Queenstown, the other in Cromwell and both are exceptional places. One is a lovely modern home with magnificent Lake views, the other a newly built home nestled in a 4hectare Cherry Orchid and boutique vineyard. Staying 10+ days in each for example would offer a fantastic contrast of holiday accommodation including staying in one of the most popular tourist resorts in the World, to the quiet serene privacy of an Orchid with lovely mountain views, then to a rural relaxation gem for fishing and tramping enthusiasts. We are all high energy 'young' grandparents and all own our own retail business's and we all love Rugby, but want to see more of the World while not attending Rugby matches. We are very well practiced in socialising, enjoy good food, a beer, wine and meeting people. The three females are very proud housekeepers and we would treat your home with the same respect as we would expect in return. Vehicles will be available at all three places and may also be used to travel from one place to the next.

Where is it?

Wyndham is a lovely quiet rural Town with a Pop. of 700 that services a very large farming catchment of Sheep/Beef and Dairying. Edendale Dairy Factory one of the largest of it's type in the world is only a 4min drive away. We have visited a number of Countries including travel to Britain and Europe and regard our home Town quite unique that it can provide so many services not available in other similar small towns anywhere. Nowhere else in the world can you walk to three different fantastic trout fishing rivers in less than 10mins, the famous Mataura being one of them. There is a superb 9 Hole Golf Course incorporated around the Racecourse and Lawn Bowl Greens, Tennis Courts, Squash Courts, Rugby & Cricket Grounds etc., all only a 5min walk away. The Town is nestled in the Lower Mataura Valley in the beautiful Province of Southland and parochial residents will tell you that you haven't seen NZ if you haven't visited Southland and shared it's wonderful clean and green beauty. Well located just 4mins off the Main highway, we are only a 30min drive to Invercargill and 20mins to Gore. It is only a 2hr drive to Queenstown, Cromwell and Dunedin. There are many places of interest, a visit to the scenic wonders of the Catlins is a 30min drive or take in Stewart Island only 90mins by road and Ferry.
