About our home

CURRENTLY SEEKING SWAP IN MANHATTAN AND IN THE CANNES AREA IN FRANCE IN 2018

Welcome to our beautiful, modern and well equipped house. The view from our two spacious terraces, bedrooms and living rooms is amazing! This is an ideal location If you want to have an awesome Norwegian nature experience, and at the same time be close to everything that Oslo can offer.

We can offer you 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms (one of them you can sleep in as well) – and a spacious, delightful kitchen with amenities. The Rotpunkt design kitchen and AEG top of the notch appliances are new. The main bathroom is lovely and spacious as well, built in 2015.

This is a cozy and trendy house with cool interior design effects. The kitchen, bathroom, some floors and terrace has been upgraded recently. Our furniture is Scandinavian/ Danish.

You will be looking directly at the fjord and beautiful landscape all the way from Oslo to Asker! There are no other houses in front, so you can enjoy spending time on both terraces with privacy. The main terrace is 270 square feet, equipped with a new sofa group, table & chairs and a Weber gass grill. The glass fence on the terrace is was designed and built in October 2017. There is a small garden as well.

There are so many nice things to do in this area of Norway! A small, lovely beach is situated only a 8 - 10 minutes walk from our house. You can also enjoy a short boat trip to one of the nearby islands if you want to swim, sunbath or have a picnic with a view. If you enjoy hiking you can walk to the forest with several marked paths in only 7 minutes. It is also possible to go horseback riding nearby. In wintertime you have cross country ski terrain very close to the house, or you can take a short drive to the down hill slopes.

We have parking spaces near our house if you want to rent a car.

The center of Oslo is only a short, relaxing ferry ride away. The trip takes only either 11 or 23 minutes, depending on where you go. Want to stay out late? No stress, on weekends the ferry runs until 3.30 AM…

The house is a 5 minute walk to the commuting point with express connection to Oslo.

Oslo has so much to offer if you enjoy dining, shopping and art & culture events! There are so many things to do, but you won´t be bored either if you choose to chill :)

Here are some spots that we highly recommend - most of them are walking distance from the ferry :

The Vigeland Museum and park, Tjuvholmen, Aker brygge for shopping, Sørenga Public Bath, The Royal castle, Botanical Garden, Ekeberg Sculpture park, The Museum of Natural History, The Munch Museum, National Gallery of Art and The Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art. The 3* restaurant Maaemo and the cozy, local Italian restaurant Alberto and Nobile.

Your children will enjoy the large amusement park, Tusenfryd, 30 minutes from the house.

About us

We are a non-smoking, respectful couple with two pets whom we adore. Our Maine Coon cat, Kasper, is cool, calm and majestic looking - like a lynx. Our Volpino Italiano dog, Zappa, is the happiest, cutest dog on earth! He kinda looks like a happy white fox - people smile at him every single day. Our pets are with family when we travel.

I, Lily, am a true born New Yorker and love visiting the city and my cousins. Try to as often as I can. Love the vibe there, and the diversity that the city has to offer. I moved to the North-West coast of Norway when i was a teenager. The landscape, light and ocean are so beautiful there! I am a journalist, and have also studied political science. I read and write a lot.

Jon is a former musician, now he is head of security in a wonderful museum. He loves fishng!

We love to travel, and try to do so as much as possible. Both of us are very fond of great dining, concerts and art. I enjoy shopping vintage clothing and shoes. Love the pulse of the city, but also tranquility. We enjoy Soho i NYC for that blend of both. Budapest is historic, very interesting and a beautiful place to be. Amsterdam, Berlin and Copenhagen are cool cities to visit. London too. The bright light in Cannes is amazing, as well as the sandy beaches, warm sea, fresh food and great wine. Hearing French gets you in a good mood! That´s why we love going there. Besides New York, we would like to visit France, Italy and many other places. Both cities and rural areas. I have many on my bucket list!
