“During July we exchanged our house with a family of Oslo. The stay was pleasant and without any problems. His house is located in a residential district of the city, quiet and spectacular views. The deal with the family was successful and our stay enjoyable.”

About our home
Centrally located house, with a magnificent view over Oslo, and a secluded private garden.
Situated on the calm and leafy Ekeberg hill, a 15 minute walk from the Bjørvika neighbourhood on the waterfront, and a 20 minute walk from the Opera House. By tram or bus, Oslo city centre is 7-8 min away.
The house is listed as a protected building under the Norwegian Cultural Heritage Act, as are the neighbouring wooden houses and a park immediately next our garden. It is a rare example of the sort of cottage, low-rise neighbourhoods common in Oslo in older times.
The house is about 150 sq. meters (1600 sq. feet) in area. It has a very spacious living room with a mezzanine and splendid views over Oslo city centre and the surrounding hills; dining room and kitchen opening on to a large porch catching the morning sun; two upstairs bedrooms, one of which opens on to a balcony catching the evening sun (sunset about 9 or 10 pm, in summer), with views over Bjørvika, the Royal Palace, etc.; a large downstairs bedroom; a bathroom with bathtub and separate shower; a separate WC on the top floor.
The house has a private, secluded garden, with a trampoline, and magnificent views over Oslo.
Private parking space for two cars.
Several bicycles are available for your use.
The new bathing spot Munch Brygge and the popular city beach, Sørenga Seawater Beach, is within 15 minutes walk or less than 10 min by bicycle. The point of embarkation for the network of Oslo fjord ferries is less than 30 minutes away by public transport or walk 35 minutes along the fjord. Using these ferries, several small islands can conveniently and cheaply be reached, many of which have beaches. The water temperature in the Oslo fjord often reaches a respectable 20C or more in the summer.

Shirin's reviews
As a host (5)“We have discovered Norway thanks to this exchange with Shirin. The country is wonderful, the house is very nice and comfortable with an incredible view on Oslo. It is also very well located, near the city center where you can go walking, by bus or tram. Shirin is a very nice person, she and her family have taken good care of our house. I really recommend you to discover this amazing country! Nadège”
“We spend 15 days in this wonderful and highly comfortable place. Well communicated to Oslo centre and in a very nice peaceful surrounding. We appreciate the smooth and friendly communication with Shirin. We strongly recommend this contact.”
“La maison est pleine de lumière, spacieuse avec une vue magnifique sur la ville d'Oslo. Nous avons été très bien accueilli. Le prêt des vélos et l'utilisation des transports en commun nous ont suffi à profiter pleinement de notre séjour. Le temps et les températures étaient en plus au rendez-vous. Merci à Shirin et à toute sa famille pour ce fabuleux échange.”
“The house is very comfortable and full of light in the evening, with a fantastic view. It was a perfect accommodation after visiting Oslo a day long. The house is suitable for a family with children: our 6-year daughter had the chance to play with the toys, and the terrace is agreable for the family when the sun shines. Shirin and Anders are very helpful to fine good ideas for visiting and we could go to places we had never thought (Grunerlokka, Akker Brygge...). The communication was easy and quick with Shirin, and we recommand a swap for people who want to discover the town. Shirin and her family took good care of our house. A very good experience in Oslo, and great memories.”
