About our home

We are a Swiss-Norwegian couple traveling a lot and prefer staying at private homes to staying at hotels. So we decided to list our space as a swap as well as rental possibility whenever we're on vacation.

Our apartment is in one of Oslo's best areas – an extremely peaceful area, right next to one of the nicest parks (St. Hanshaugen) from which you will have a view over the city and on clear days even over the fjord! In summer it will be filled with people playing kubb, sunbathing, and having BBQs.
The small neighborhood hosts one of the city's best and nicest coffee shops ("Java Café"), an organic food store ("Røtter"), a wonderful small shop with all kinds of delicacies ("Gutta på haugen" – means "the boys on the hill"), a bakery and many other small shops and restaurants. It is very close to everything else in the city (for instance hip Grünerløkka, shopping street Bogstadveien, the royal castle and its beautiful parks etc.)
Several public transport options are just a short walk away (buses 21, 34, 54 and 37 as well as Oslo's city bikes).

It's a 2.5 room apartment (60m2 / 646sq feet) on the 3rd floor, it's very bright and has a shared backyard. The apartment is tucked away from the street (you walk through the backyard of another house to get to the entrance), so it's very quiet. All rooms have wooden floors, high ceilings and stucco work and are thoughtfully decorated.
The bedroom has a 140x200cm bed (a bit less wide than an american queen bed) and there's a smaller double futon in the living room (120x200cm; that's 47.2x78.7in).
The bathroom has a big window, a bathtub, a sink and a washer, the toilet is separate (and small) just right next to the bathroom.
We use the kitchen to eat, so there's no dining table in the living room but there's a beautiful wooden one in the kitchen. If you like to prepare your own food there's a fridge with freezer, a ceramic cooker and an oven and we have all the kitchen utensils you'll need to prepare a good meal (we both love to cook :) ) Right now there's no dish washer but we hope to be able to change that soon.

We love living in this apartment and hope others will enjoy it too!
