About our home

Our home is situated in a col-de-sac in a quiet street with sea and mountain view (especially at winter time). It's a 2 storey house with a large hall, light kitchen, living room with fire place, bathroom with bath tub, laudry and bedroom with double bed downstairs. Upstairs there are one bedroom with double bed, one bedroom with cot and single bed (which can be made into two single beds) and a bathroom with shower. It's an open house with warm colouring and atmosphere.

More about us

  1. We are an active couple with 3 kids. Geir is a researcher at NOFIMA (The Norwegian Institute of Food, Fisheries and Aquaculture Research) and Marit works as a marketing adviser at the Norwegian Seafood Council. We have done a house exchange in New Zealand. It was a fantastic experience, and we would love to house swap again. For the next couple of years we are very keen on swapping house and car with people near Oslo and Vestfold (especially at Easter and summer time), since we have family and lots friend down south, and after we had kids we find that it's nice to have something on our own when we stay there. But we are also open for other exciting offers. We are reliable people that will look well after other people's property, and we are happy to share our home with people that have the same mentality as us. Send us an email :-)

Where is it?

Our home is situated on the west (sun-) side of the Island of Tromsø. The bus stop is less than a minute away and takes us into town (on the east side of the island) in 15 minutes. Walking takes approx. 25 minutes and 5 minutes by car. Tromsø is "the capital of the north", a vivid university town of approx. 60 000 inhabitants. The scenery around Tromsø is spectacular with mountains rising from the sea. We have both polar night (Nov 21 to Jan 21) with beautiful polar light (Aurora Borealis) and midnight sun (from May 21 to July 21). The contrasts up north are big and that is something WE love about Tromsø. For active and adventurous people there is a lot to do both at summer and wintertime.
