About our home

Our house is a four bedroom, semi-detached house at the end of a quiet cul de sac. The house offers plenty of room. The ground floor is the main hub with a kitchen and dining area that opens out into the living room. From here you can also go out to the terrace and garden. Also on the first floor is the bathroom, linen room and office. The office sometimes serves as a guest room and has a sofabed. Upstairs, there are four bedrooms.
There is an awful lot of lego to play with for whoever might be interested.

More about us

  1. We are a family of five. Martin is Irish, and works as an archaeologist. Tale is a political scientist working for the city council. We have three lovely and well-traveled boys of 10, 8 and 6 years. Our main interests are travelling, reading, music and various sports. We have travelled extensively, both with and without children. Last year we spent four months in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and that made us want to see more of America.

Where is it?

Our home lies in a quiet suburb on the east side of Trondheim. Lots of families with young children live in this area, and children play in each others’ gardens or at the closed end of the street. There is also a large soccer field and a bicycle park close by that local children use a lot. The neighbours are friendly and helpful. There are lots of us here at more or less the same stage of family life, which makes for a fun, relaxed neighbourhood.

You can find several grocery shops well within walking distance of the house. There is also a small shopping centre nearby, with among other things a pharmacy and post office. Nor does it take long to get to the city centre or major shopping centres from here, either by car, bus or bike. You can also walk downtown in about half an hour.

Trondheim offers a variety of activities, amongst others concerts, museums, its famous cathedral, Norway's largest indoor water park, boat trips and football matches.

Trondheim lies by a fjord, and there are many opportunities for fishing, or swimming, in the nearby. There are a also number of recreational areas surrounding the city, with forests, lakes and trails for hiking. Some of the highest mountains in Norway are only a couple or hours drive away.
