About our home

***Looking for a place to swap for Christmas & New Year 2019***

Our space is a great place for relaxation. It's the combination of large windows, rooftop terrace and our cat that seems to set this relaxing atmosphere.

The apartment has a big, airy and light living room and kitchen with all the utensils you need for a comfortable stay. If you like cooking, you'll love our stove! The master bedroom has a big double bed, the guest room a single bed that can be made double (the wonders of IKEA). The bathrooms includes a shower and bathtub. The kitchen opens out to a spacious balcony with a staircase leading up to an amazing rooftop terrace.

Our neighbourhood is calm and family friendly. The city centre is just a short tram, bus or train ride away, and you find small cafes and shops in the area. The sea and fjord is within walking distance, and the bus can easily take you to the wooded mountains that surround Oslo.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Our neighbourhood (Lilleaker) is located at the outskirts of the city. While it is located slightly "outside" of hustle and bustle in the city centre (15-20 min by tram, bus or train), it is a calm and family friendly neighbourhood with the sea and fjord a short walk away.

Buzzy restaurants
Not too far from the hip are of Lysaker Brygge, but you can also find cosy cafes and brasseries 5 min away on foot.
Cool bars
Again, these are to be found in Lysaker Brygge, or in the city centre.
Cozy cafés
Lilleaker has plenty of cozy cafes and bakeries, located in residential areas where you would least expect it. Norwegian bakeries with typical Nordic design are in close proximity.
Bit of culture
Only a bus ride away from the museum island Bygdøy, where you find the Folk Museum, the Viking Ships, the Fram museum, the Kon-Tiki-museum, the Maritime museum and the Holocaust-centre. Take the bus to Aker brygge and learn more about the Nobel Peace Prize and its laureates at the Nobel Peace Centre, or take the tram to the city centre and visit the National Gallery. The cafeteria there is highly recommended!
Walks in the park
Take the bus into the King's Park and the Vigeland's park or take a picnic in the green areas by the fjord.
Spot of exercise
Jogging by the seaside is equally recommended, especially in the mornings when it's empty. Otherwise, city bikes are popular to get around, and easy to use.
Day tripping
For one day in Oslo, we would recommend the following: Take the bus to Bygdøy to see the Folk Museum and the Viking Ship museum, then take the boat from Bygdøy over to Aker Brygge; explore the busiest port in Oslo, and enjoy amazingly fresh fish at some of the restaurants located by the waterfront. Then walk along the sea towards the Opera to view the most famous building in Norway, before you walk into the hip area of Grünerløkka for a drink or dinner. Holmenkollen and the ski jump are also highly recommended to experience and amazing view over Oslo and the fjord.
