More about us

  1. My name is Margarida and I am the mum in a family of four. My two boys are 13 and 14. I am happily married for 17 years with the love of my life. We treasure family time and believe that the best we can do for the boys is to give them a good academic instruction, books and to travel. This is our first home exchange.

Where is it?

The Azores are a group of nine volcanic islands in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. They were recently voted as the second best islands to travel (see at National Geographic Magazine; Nov/Dec 2007). All islands are different and can be reached within 20 min by plane or 2 to 8 hours by boat. We live in Terceira Island, in the central group, the second most populated island (56.000 people). Our city, Angra do Heroismo, was a very important Atlantic port in historical events in the 15 century. Our apartment is located right in the centre of the city, 100m from the City Hall and 100m from the bay, defended by 2 beautiful XV century fortresses and a sand beach with sunken arqueological remains of Spanish galleons (the real thing), marina and a peer with bars and esplanades during summer time. You will find good food, friendly people, warm weather, crystal clear sea water (23 Celsius), fresh fish and sea food, volcanic landscape, good wine and cheese, good coffee, night animation, concerts and many street events. Excellent outdoor activities include whale and dolphin watching, jet sky, golf, swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving among others.
