“I was in Estoril in early June 2013 and had a very nice time. The flat is situated on a hill which was good exercise and also it had a nice view over a valley and the sea. It was close to the beach and its also nice to walk to Cascais or take the train to Lisbon. This was my first exchange and it was very good! Thanks Patricio!”

“Estoril is a beautiful place, we had a wonderful time! The beaches are great, and the seafront walk to Cascais is perfect for a nice walk or a run. Lisboa is only half an hour away by train. Patricio was very friendly and answered all our questions. The apartment is a 5 min walk from the beach. We hope to get back to Portugal soon! // Yara & Kettil from Stockholm”
“We had a wonderful stay in Estoril for three weeks in July. This is a perfect holiday destination with easy access to great beaches, beautiful landscapes and citylife. The apartment is beautifully located only a few minutes walk from the beach and is nice, clean and fully equipped. We made a simultaneous swap which went really smoothly. Patricio is very helpful and generous and gave many useful advices on restaurants, sights and day trips. He made us feel very welcome! There is a grocery store within walking distance and the boardwalk between Estoril and Cascais is perfect for walking or running. The commuter train to central Lisbon is only a 30 minutes ride. Over all a great stay and we would definitely like to come back. Thank you, Patricio! -Per”
“It was a pleasure to make an exchange with Patricio - Everything was well organized. Thank you!”
“We spent almost three weeks in Estoril, a nice seaside village in Portugal. The apartment is nice and you have a well assorted grocery store nearby. It is a lovely, peaceful place (maybe a little more lively in July than June) and there are plenty of good restaurants. Patricio was very helpful with everything and we felt very welcome. He gave us lots of advice where to go and where to eat. The exchange went very well and we would not mind doing it again. Maud och Christian”
“The flat is light and airy and Patricio very welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A short 5 min walk to local, friendly supermarket, beach, good beach restaurant and only a few minutes more on the shore promenade round to the next bay with sea pool and lots more places to eat, main beach and train to Lisbon. If you want to hire a car ask at tourist info (the local firms are about 1/3 of the price of Avis etc)and would recommend the walking tour of Lisbon which was a highlight, together with Sintra. We didn't see all the local sights by any means, so plenty to do if sun and sand doesn't make you want to relax too much.”
“First of all we would like to thank Patricio and Claudia for all kindness and hospitality shown to our family. We have found your house very comfortable for us all four. Everything was simply perfect. The house in Estoril is located in very good place. It is safe and it is close to everywhere - to the beach, to the supermarkets, to the restaurants, to the train station. It is very close to Lisabon and other famous places in Portugal as well as Sintra, Cascais, wild beaches. It was our first experience with home swap and we found it very successful. We kindly recommend to meet this family in Portugal. Thank you so much! Giedre & Vytautas, Lithuania”
“Our stay was wonderful! My brother and our kids were very satisfied with the stay especially since it is located close to a very nice tennisclub. It's a comfortable flat and close to the beach and shops. You can run along the seaside to Cascais and on.. It was not a simultaneous exchange and Patricio took us to a very nice local restaurant we would never have found ourselves. I hope I can take Birgitta (my wife) to it next time.”
“Would really recommend, we had brilliant communication, time, friends on holiday. The location could not be better, lovely views. And friendly people, so helpful, just the best holiday, really cannot go wrong here.”
Where is it?
The beach in Monte Estoril (along the boardwalk) is at a 5-minute walk from the apartment. On the 2.5-km. boardwalk that extends to Cascais - a fancy fishermen town - you can jog, rollerblade, go for a walk, have a coffee or an ice cream, read a book or enjoy fresh fish for lunch/dinner. The nearest beach is ideal for children because the sea is normally calm and the sand is smooth. An amazing beach with dunes (Praia do Guincho) is only at a 15-minute car ride from the house. You can also get there by bike for there are several bike stands where you can borrow bikes. The Casino in Estoril (the largest one in Europe) is just at a 5-minute car ride from the house. Lisbon is at a 25-minute train ride from Estoril (the train ride coasts the sealine). The train station is only at an 8-minute walk from the house. In Lisbon you can find fine restaurants by the river Tagus and a wide range of cultural events as well as places to visit including the medieval part of the city Alfama, Europe's biggest Oceanarium, and much more. Near Estoril. Within a 20 minutes car ride there is the historical town of Sintra where Lord Byron once stayed. In his "Childe Harold's Pilgrimage" the English poet called Sintra the "glorious Eden."
