About our home

My pied-a-terre in Lisbon is situated in one of the prime locations in the city. In front of a beautiful building, our Parliament, and between the neighbourhoods of Príncipe Real, Santos, and Lapa. Very near Chiado, the epicenter of the city, but without all the tourists. It is an historical building, who has been completely restored in 2017, and now has an elevator. I live in Madrid and filled the apartment with a mix of vintage that I bought over the years in Spain and Portugal. The light and the view are amazing.

Where is it?

Located in front of the Portuguese National Congress, it is located in the middle of the Charming São Bento neighborhood, right next to Principe Real, the most charming Lisbon neighborhood, Santos (nightlife, theatre and restaurants), Madragoa and Lapa (most prestigious address, with all the Embassies etc), and Estrela with its beautiful Basilica and Gardens. It is within walking distance of Chiado (10 min. walk). Prime location. Right in front of the door there's a stop of the famous Number 28 Tram.

Buzzy restaurants
The area has wonderful restaurants, taverns (tascas), and recently it has been occupied by the French living in Lisbon, so you have the best croissants, bistrots, and French wine in town. But it is very Lisboa in character, still. One of the best japanese restaurants in Lisbon is in front of the house.
Cool bars
Many wine bars just down Rua de São Bento, discos and bars in Ribeira area (10 min walk) and the famous Incognito disco.
Cozy cafés
Lots of cafés. Our favorites: A Mercearia Saloia, Pão de canela and Coppenhagen Coffe Lab.
Retail therapy
Lots of cool stores. We love Galerías de São Bento, Palavra de Viajante (best travel bookshop in Lisbon) just down the street and the stores in Principe Real such as Embaixada.
Bit of culture
Easy walk to the Portugueses main museum the beautiful Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, The beautiful Basilica da Estrela, the gardens of the Prime Minister residency, the Jesús Church, the Museu do Chiado (Portuguese Contemporary Art) and many, many more, just within a few minutes walk.
Walks in the park
There's a very nice park just across the street. th Garden of Estrela uo the hill, the river side walk, etc, all very near.
Spot of exercise
We recommend running along the river Tagus, beautiful run just down the street.
Day tripping
We love Cascais, Estoril, Sintra, Caparica beaches and Azeitão, all half an hour drive from the house.
