Caxias is a small residential town just outside Lisbon. It has a train station commuting to Cascais (to the west) and down town Lisbon (to the East). Nearby there is a huge park called Estadio Nacional (National Stadium) where all sort of sports are available.
The Marginal Avenue from Lisbon to Cascais runs past Caxias and has long pieces of pedestrian/bycicle/skate tracks right by the edge of the water.
Several well known beaches in the area, some famous for surfing.
The speedway to Marques de Pombal (perhaps the heart of Lisbon) allows to get there by car in 15 minutes (except on rush hours).
