A typical Portuguese granite stone farmhouse with accommodation over different levels, each of which - because of the terraced land - opens at "ground level"!
The top level is the main 3 bed farmhouse: cosy living room with woodburner, rustic kitchen with fireplace, and 3 bedrooms - one has a double bed, the other two have twin beds that can convert to large doubles. One of the bedrooms is en-suite, the other two share a shower room / WC.
On the next level down is an unfurnished room, a large walk-in pantry, and a large shower room / WC with washing machine.
The lowest level houses a room used as an office / classroom (we have held several courses and events here and would be happy for you to use for the same purpose if desired).
The house is very comfortable but rustic! There are new double-glazed windows and doors throughout, and the kitchen has a newly insulated ceiling. Heating is a woodstove in the living room (which - if you leave the doors open - also gives heat to the bedrooms) and an open fireplace in the kitchen. The house has mains electricity and water, with a gas water heater.
There's a hectare of terraced land (not steep) leading down to the Rio Mondego, with some flower beds / borders and a small veggie patch.
There's also a cosy little caravan tucked away on a private terrace below the house, with small double bed and woodstove, electric from the house, and a water tap outside - available for your use if desired.
There's undercover parking and easy access off the main (but not busy) road.
The town of Fornos de Algodres is 3km away with all amenities including bus and train stations, and motorway access. Celorico da Beira - with its medieval castle, and also with all amenities, bus, train, and motorway access, is 12km. Porto (airport) is about 2 hours drive.
