About our home

We have three apartments at Tavira Garden, a mature, family-friendly complex in the old Roman town of Tavira in the Algarve, the southernmost part of Portugal; we are about 25km from the Spanish border and about 35km from Faro airport. We are looking for a non-simultaneous exchange to the Sunshine Coast, preferably near Noosa, for approx Aug 07 to approx Aug 21 (We have a wedding in Noosa on Aug 14). We can offer any one of the three apts in the period Oct 2010 to May 2011 or Oct, Nov 2011 in return. The Algarve weather is somewhat mixed Dec through Feb; we would recommend Oct, Nov and Mar, Apr, May.

More about us

I am a retired engineer. My wife and I had a vacation apartment for several years in Tavira Garden. When I retired, we bought a house in Tavira and now rent out three apts in Tavira Garden to supplement our income. Typically we try to spend the summer in Dublin and the winter in the Algarve; however, we also do quite an amount of travelling and sometimes volunteer assignments on charitable projects in the Third World.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The Tavira Garden complex is set in lush, mature gardens and comprises approx 100 low rise units. There are two pool areas, gym, tennis, boules, bar/restaurant, etc. About one third to one half of the apts are continuously occupied, the remainder are normally rented by the week.
