Thanks for looking. We have a large 1 bedroom apartment. With a nice kitchem, living room and two private rooftop patios. The Apartment is exquisitely decorated with an array of items from around the world. There is a Queen size bed in the master bedroom, and a full size bed in the sleeping nook. This apartment will comfortably sleep 4 people. The living space is well over 1500 sq feet.
The Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need to cook for yourself. The Fridge tends to want to pop open on its own, so we put a stick through the handles to make sure it stays closed. It works perfectly otherwise. There is no TV, but we do provide a excellent internet connection. There is no Air Conditioning, but the tradewinds, ceiling and box fans keep the air cool and moving. The Apartment has it's own private gate, parking and entrance. Our property sits on 1 acre of fenced grassland and jungle in the Destino neighborhood. Destino is a 5 minute drive from the main town of Isabel Segundo. It is also 5 minutes to the main entrance of the wildlife refuge, which holds the majority of Vieques pristine beaches.
A rental car is highly recommended as Vieques has no public transportation and our property is far from any restaurants or other conveniences. We offer our own 2001 Mitsubishi Nativa as option at a additional $40 a day, which is $10 cheaper than and of the rental agencies budget options. The "Tiva" is your typical island truck. It's in perfect mechanical condition, but has seen it's fair share of beach days. The back hatch has been a little sticky and difficult to open lately. It is one of those "wiggle the handle just right" situations. It's really perfect, if you were driving around one of the brand new candy colored jeep's, you just scream "TOURIST!!" The car comes with 2 beach chairs. If you do decide to use our rental car, we would be happy to pick you up from the ferry or the airport and bring you to the property. Otherwise, we will of course provide detailed directions
If you are planning on spending time in Old San Jaun, or are trying to figure out the best way to get to the ferry we are happy to help arrange a taxi. A one way taxi ride from the airport or Old San Juan to the ferry is $65. Ceasar is our go to taxi driver, and I would be happy to put you in touch with him. If staying in Old San Juan, I always send my guests to the same fabulous apartment on Calle De Las Monjas. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/631676 It is one of the few waterfront properties in Old San Juan, with fabulous views of the Governors mansion and the harbor. Let me know if you would like info about staying there.
We do have a housekeeper who cleans on Mondays and Wednesdays. Feel free to leave your laundry and dishes out, and she will be happy to come in and straighten up for you.
