20km away from Dracula’s Castle, in the mountain village of Rucar, our holiday home awaits you. With lots of good energy, spacious (180 sqm), the house offers amazing views from every window, as the village is surrounded by four mountain ranges. The house boasts a spacious living area with open plan kitchen, 4 bedrooms (sleeping 7 = 2+2+2+1), two bathrooms and a guest toilet. Its beautiful interior decorations, offering everything one needs (without being crammed), carry you into a patriarchal, aristocratic world improved with all the modern amenities.
On the ground floor there is underfloor heating, the floor covering consisting of manually made bricks.
The living area flows onto a spacious terrace where you can have your meals or simply sit and admire the mountains.
There is a small orchard with eight apple trees on the property, and a hammock hanging between two of them invites you to lie in it to read or just dream.
Our immediate neighbors are two hay fields, full of wild flowers in summer. The grass is regularly scythed and hay piles made like a hundred years ago.
The children will be able to see up close (and even touch, if they so wish) various animals, on the neighbors’ properties (cows, sheep, goats, hens, dogs, cats).
You can visit: Dracula’s Castle (20km), Rasnov fortress, Brasov city & resort (60km – also a ski resort in winter), Piatra Craiului National Park, Dambovicioara gorge, Dambovicioara cave, Rasnoavei gorge, Gradistea gorge, Dragoslavele hermitage (a small wooden church dating back to the 16th century, heritage listed), Namaiesti monastery. You can hike through the mountain forests, stop by a creek or in a clearing to catch your breath all by yourselves, “far from the madding crowd” J . Take your cameras along because there are plenty of opportunities to take wonderful pictures of amazingly beautiful landscapes, which you will want to look at again and again after returning home.
You can also visit the famous resorts Sinaia (with the wonderful royal castle Peles) and Predeal. Built between 1873 and 1914 by over 300 builders brought from around the world, the Peles castle (currently a museum) was the summer residence of the first royal couple of Romania. Its unique character, its historical and artistic value make it one of the most beautiful heritage buildings in Europe ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peleș_Castle )
