“It was a fantastic hospitality exchange, the house interior has an authentic design reflecting the times when it was constructed, it was like to a trip back in time. And the host is a very special and interesting person who made his best to make us feeling at home and entertained us during our stay, thank you very much Alexandru!”

About our home
Our house is situated in the historical centre of the city, quite close to all its main attractions. It's a leafy retreat in the summer, and a cozy family-house in the winter.
The house is very large, having around 340 sqm,and there are 9 rooms (4 of which are bedrooms) and two hallways. There are two bathrooms, one on the main floor, and one upstairs (both of which have bathtubs). There are also two small terraces, one on each side of the house.
We tried to keep the spirit of 1900 Bucharest alive in the surroundings as well as in the house, to give a more authentic experience!
You will be provided with cleaning/laundry/cooking services four times a week.and with transfers from/to the airport..all of these free of charge, of course. 2 bicycles are, also, at your disposal.
We can also exchange cars if you wish (we have a small one, perfect for navigating through the crowded city). However, all the main attractions in the city are in a 15-20 minute walking- distance from the house.
We are open to visitors coming without swapping-for points- and to non-simultaneous swaps.

“This was definitely one of my most unique and memorable exchanges! Staying in Alexandru's amazing mansion from the year 1900, with its 5-meter high ceilings and many original elements preserved, one almost feels like an aristocrat before World War I. We even had a maid at our disposal and Alexandru's cheauffeur drove us from and to the airport! Thanks to the spaciousness of the villa, we were able to use the final days of my stay in Bucharest for a family reunion, the first joint vacation with my grown-up children in some 20 years. Thanks a lot for having made this possible, Alexandru! The villa is located in a peaceful and picturesque neighborhood of old Bucharest, yet only two bus or tram stops from the vibrant city center. Both University Square and Unity Square, the two nearest subway stations and entry points to Bucharest's Old Town -- the party and nightlife area of the city -- can also easily be reached on foot. There was so much to see and to do in this great city that, contrary to my original plans, I only managed one day trip outside Bucharest during my 12 days there. This was to historic Brasov in Transylvania, which proved easy to reach from the main Gare de Nord train station. This superb day trip destination provides a strikingly different experience from Bucharest and serves thus as a perfect complement to a visit to the Romanian capital. ”
“We love staying at Alexandru's, it was all perfect. Thanks again and hopefully see you soon either in Rapallo or in Bucharest!”
“Excellent!!!!!Thanks Alexandru”
“This is a unique old house in Bucharest. The home is large. Furniture is old. ”

“Beautiful villa full of history and atmosphere in the centre of Bucharest. Alexandru was super friendly , welcoming and generous too. He offered us a lift from /to the airport and a tasty dinner was ready for us on arrival. The cleaner/chef was also very nice and she came everyday to clean the house and look after our needs. In the end Alexandru s dog,Puio, stayed with us and he was adorable! We miss them all and our nice place in Bucharest! We d like to go back soon! Thanks Alexandru!!”
“Alexandru is very nice. He respected the rules of our home and he is very kind. ”
“Great couples we took them in the boat with us and made then experience Venetian life ”
“Nosotros les dejamos la casa acabada de limpiar y esperamos encontrarla tal como la dejamos, como hacemos nosotros en nuestros intercambios. Alexandru y su familia, 3 en total, nos la devolvieron muy sucia. Con arena de la playa en el suelo, en las camas y en las toallas y restos de comida en la nevera. No recomiendo a estos huespedes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Guest's Response: Dolors' apartment is nice and large. We visited her for 6 nights and because of the splendid weather we spent very little time inside so there were parts of the apart. we never entered . from day 1 we realised what an insidious problem the very fine sand represents. Every 2 days we had to clean it from everywhere and next day we'll find it back on the floor but also on the tables , towels, sheets and clothes .The sand is in the air like a powder but not opening the windows and using only AC could not work for us as my friend she's allergic to AC. I know for a fact that Dolors could not come to meet us before the departure because leaving the country the same day we did. And because I forgot to leave the second set of keys I kept in contact with her and sent it to her daughter's address as she instructed me . For sure if checking after some days or weeks passed sand was beck everywhere is no doubt . Leaving we tried our best as for cleaning and also asked the same from my son (12 years old.). As we had a very good communication i would have expected Dolors to tell me any complaints because we still changed kind messages after 10-15 days; and no complaint about some food we left in the fridge thinking it could be useful : olive oil, some canned stuff as i can remember; anyhow it is a pity and for this I'll ask escusses even if explaining my good intentions. On my side i was nicely impressed both by Dolors and her beautiful apartment”
