About our home

We live in the historical centre of 'cultural capital of Russia' - yet very quiet area with its own typically St-Petersburgian atmosphere which was rendered so well in Dostoevsky's novels. The flat in the top floor (7th, with elevator) of the house built in 1881 was newly renovated and perfectly equipped in 2007. There is a huge living space with working fireplace, attached fully equipped kitchen, WC and home office / guest room nook, one ensuite bedroom with queen-size bed and working fireplace. The house is situated on the quiet embankment of the canal that can be seen from the oversized windows of the flat, together with a stunning view of Mariinsky Theater (situated within a 5-minute walk), a craddle of the «russian ballet», one of the best opera and ballet theaters in the world. This is probably the best view in St. Petersburg ? under the picturesque sky the sight runs along the roofs of historical buildings, musical theater, ancient sinagogue, and down to the port.

More about us

  1. We are a young couple, Maxim and Natalia, with no kids. Maxim is an architect from Moscow who fell in love with St Petersburg and tries now to spend as much time here as he can. Natalia runs her own literary agency representing Russian authors worldwide. We love traveling, snowboarding, cooking, photo, opera, and we also love being surprised.

Where is it?

There is a cluster of sightseeing places right off the house (like Mariinsky Theatre or one of the most characteristic churches of St. Petersburg ? Nikolsky Cathedral), 10-minute walk will bring you to the famous St. Isaak's square, and 10 minutes later you will find yourself in the very heart of St. Petersburg ? Palace Square (Dvortsovaya ploshad'). During the famous White Nights (in May, June and July) ? when it practically doesn't get dark during the night ? you will be able to enjoy observing the opening bridges over the Neva river. Living in our flat we have at our disposal a lot of museums, galleries, parks, restaurants, bars, clubs and all the other pleasures of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
