“We have just come back from a swap for a week with Mojca and her wonderful family (May 14). Their beautiful home is situated on the edge of Ljubljana in a very peaceful semi-rural setting but very close to the centre of Ljubljana. It is in an ideal location to do many day trips such as Jerusalem (wine growing district), Logarska Dolina (near the Alps), the majestic lake at Bled and the Venetian style city of Piran as well as the famous Slovenia caves. The nature and scenery in Slovenia and the delicious home cooking and home grown wines are second to none. But our favourite thing about Slovenia is its people who are so helpful when you are lost, so patriotic and so good natured. Our highlights were swapping stories with our house swap friends Mojca, Marko, Tijan and Marusa about each others travel experiences and meeting Gal (Mojca's cousin) who looked after his nation's guests exquisitely. We'll be back.”

Where is it?
Our house is situated in a quiet district at the edge of Ljubljana, only 6 km from city centre, where you can go by bus (local bus stop is just 100 meters from our home and buses are driving to the city centre every 10 minutes), or by bike. We live about 20 kilometres south-east from the Ljubljana International airport (Letali¨če Jo¸eta Pučnika Ljubljana) with regular flights to Frankfurt, London, Brussels, Copenhagen, Munich, Barcelona, Tel Aviv and other cities. We would like to point out that our house is only 1 hour car-drive away from Sevnica - hometown of USA First Lady.
We have tracks for running and biking and the closest swimming pool is approximately 5 km from our home.
Something about Ljubljana: Ljubljana (European Green Capital 2016) lies halfway between Vienna and Venice, at the crossroads of different cultures, geographical regions and historical developments. Ljubljana can easily be described as green and picturesque. Its old city centre is full of outstanding architecture, a medley of styles from different periods in history bound together into one of the 20th century's most amazing total works of art by the world famous architect and urban planner Jo¸e Plečnik. The city has a relaxed atmosphere and its life seems to move along at a slow pace, always with the focus on the joys of the present moment.
More about Ljubljana you can see http://www.ljubljana-tourism.si and Slovenia http://www.slovenia-tourism.si. Adriatic coast can be reached within 1 hour, Alps within 1 hour, Venice and Vienna in 2,5 hours by car, also good connections with Austria and Croatia.
