Chintsa East is a quiet, remote sea-side village, with only about 100 houses in the village itself. There are a couple of rustic restaurants, a filling station, a convenience store, a couple of shops and unspoilt beaches that goes on for miles.
Itis close to the city of East London (for all the city attractions, malls, movies, shopping etc...) East London also has an airport and boast some of the best golf courses in the country, and there are also other shopping areas closer to Chintsa East (within 15 km's) for supplies etc...
Chintsa East is a fishing and surfer's paradise, mountainbike heaven, and it is possible to do day trips to tourist attractions such as big 5 game parks, museums, golfing, aquariums, horse riding trails, walking tours, microlight aircraft trips, and shopping trips. The beaches are superb, and white sandy beach extends for more than 10 km's to the north, excellent for walking excursions.
The Inkwenkwezi Big 5 reserve is within 10 kilometers from Chintsa and includes Elephant back safaris! The Addo Elephant Park is within 2 hours drive from Chintsa and is FANTASTIC.
Walking Tours are very popular along the East coast and the "Strandloper Trail" is exceptional
The Beach is fantastic (more than 10 kilometers of white beach to the north and lovey rock pools and formations to the south... also stretching more than 10 kms). Because it is remote, It never gets very busy, even over the December holidays. There are many trails suitable for mountain biking or walking.
