About our home

Our little piece of heaven right on the beach with 180 degrees sea view, surrounded by beautiful nature. Away from the crowds yet only 15 minutes from the nearest village, St Francis Bay, with all amenities. We are privileged to be one of only six families with holiday houses along a stretch of this beautiful rocky coast. Lat 34:11:47S, Lon 24:47:27E. You will turn off the main road between St Francis Bay and Cape St Francis and take about 7km slower bumpy farm road down to the sea. There are two security gates along the farm road. The original family cottage which has now been renovated, has been in the family for more than 100 years and is next door.

Rock pools at low tide provide hours of fun for the kids. There is a small sandy beach in front of house. Long white sandy beaches for swimming and surfing are available at world renowned surfing spots in Jeffreys Bay (35 minutes away) and Cape St Francis (15 minutes away). Find a variety of restaurants, boutique shops, supermarket, dentist and doctors all close by. Walk, run or cycle along the coast to the lighthouse, about 5km away and have breakfast/lunch/coffee at Nevermind restaurant at Seal Point Lighthouse. More serious hikers can try the beautiful Chokka Trail which passes in front of our house. Golfers can enjoy the stunning St Francis Links, voted the best course in South Africa in 2021 with a beautiful thatched clubhouse and restaurant. Experience the St Francis Bay Canals and Kromme River on a boat cruise. Horse riding on the beach is available in Jeffreys Bay. For even more adventure and safari/wildlife go to the Baviaanskloof Nature Reserve, Addo Elephant Park, Shamwari, Kariega, Hill's Nek Safari and a whole host of other malaria free game lodges to the east. To the west visit Tsitsikamma National Park and upmarket Plettenberg Bay and Knysna. All about 2-3 hours’ drive away. We are about 130km (1hour 30min drive) from Port Elizabeth Airport.

Outdoor barbeque area and pizza oven. Outdoor shower and also an outdoor bath tucked away under the Melkhout. No pets allowed (protecting oyster catchers and otters). Watch the whales and dolphins from the stoep (terrace) during winter months. Big double volume open plan sitting-dining-kitchen area with huge fireplace/indoor barbeque. Separate scullery/laundry room with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Four bedrooms -Two downstairs: one double en suite and one with two single beds en suite. Two bedrooms upstairs sharing a bathroom: one with four single beds and a second with one double bed.
