About our home

This is our lovely beachfront weekend home in the Jakkalsfontein Private Nature Reserve on the South African West Coast. It is only a 50 minutes drive from Cape Town to the south and 30 minutes to the West Coast National Park and Langebaan lagoon to the north. A boardwalk next to the house leads onto the pristine beach. Three luxurious bedrooms (2 queen size beds, 2 single beds), three bathrooms (huge main ensuite). A cot, toddler bed and high chair cater for younger members of the family. The bedrooms are all northfacing with loads of sunlight and views into the dunes. The master bedroom also overlooks the ocean and Table Mountain in the distance.

Open plan lounge/kitchen with two Hergom fireplace for colder days. Fully equipped kitchen with both electrical and gas stovetop options. Dishwasher, washing machine and dryer in the scullery. Flat screen TV with Netflix. The large mezzanine area under the rafters has wooden floors, a cosy library and the TV area. We also have two adult bicycles to ride with on the many tarred paths and dirt bicycle paths in the reserve.

Soak up the sun on the private north/ east facing patios or barbeque on the Weber. Or have your morning coffee at the ocean facing side of the house.
The house has uncapped wifi.

The house is located in a manned security nature estate with a heated pool (including a shallow children's section), a children's play area (with a jungle jim & swings), tennis courts and a squash court. The reserve has an abundance of wildlife such as buck, tortoise, whales, dolphins and seals and birds such as ostrich, pelicans, flamingo, hummingbirds and eagle. We think of Jakkalsfontein as paradise.

We also own a lovely, quiet, one bedroom ground floor apartment with large outside balcony in a security estate on a canal right in the heart of one of South Africa’s most sought after residential estates: the V & A Waterfront in Cape Town. The apartment is located within easy walking distance to all that the Waterfront has to offer. This apartment will be available over from 25 December 2018 until 8 Jan 2019. Please contact me for more information and pictures.
