Our home is in one of the most beautiful spots in Cape Town. overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is an "AHA" house because that is what visitors say when they arrive! It is a double storey with the main bedroom ensuite, sun room, study and large deck (see photos) on the upper level. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with all amenities open plan to a winter lounge with fireplace leading to a summer lounge known as the Bali room as we have furnished it with things collected on our many visits to that island. It has a daybed which can be used if needed. There is a bedroom with a double bed and single bed in the sewing room, a bathroom/laundry. A deck overlooks the sea and garden. The garden is large and terraced, planted with indigenous plants and trees. Parking for three cars is off the road above the house and steps lead to the front door. We love living in this beautiful, upmarket place of only 30 houses which is a conservation village.
We are a retired couple - very active, travel a lot and enjoy life to the full. We are experienced exchangers. We are eager to be able to spend some time with our small grandchildren who live in Surrey. We love seeing them but need to have some time on our own and like to be independent. Tony was a senior partner in KPMG accounting and Shirley owned and was MD of her own travel agency. We have travelled the world and stayed in about 35 countries. We have a son who lives nearby who is a specialist botanist, climbs mountains looking for red data species and is working on his doctorate. We are enjoying our retirement and spend at least 3 months of the year travelling.
Cape Town is famous for its beaches, Cape Point, Robben Island, Watertfront. Penguin Colony, Winelands (5 different routes), Table Mountain, historical buildings, restuarants, different cultures, rugby, cricket, swimming, surfing (on "our" beach)hiking, mountain climbing in fact every sport - except skiing!!! Every weekend of the year you can go to a different beauty spot. We are on the tourist route to the Cape Point and a car is essential to get round and see the sights and experience the area to get a "feel" of this wonderful city.
