About our home

Our home is comfortable, clean, and spacious. It has many creative/artistic features and lots of colour. We have two large bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, a lounge, dining room and separate tv lounge. There is a double sleeper couch for another 2 to sleep. There is a galley kitchen which adjoins the dining room. There is a full large bathroom with bath and shower, and a separate guest toilet.

The house has wifi, air-con, satellite television, security, and all appliances necessary (washer, dryer, etc).

The property is completely fenced and private with a view of the mountains and has many trees, flowers and a garden both in front and at the back. There are terrace doors from the lounge onto the back patio and garden (with mountain views). The back garden is particularly gorgeous, outside seating, barbecue, hammock, lawn... The property size in total in 535 sq.m.

There is a separate cottage in the garden ( self-catering, one bedroom, property ID = 22291 on this site). The cottage is rented out as holiday accommodation throughout the year, so there is a regular supply of interesting travellers staying over.

There are two resident cats, and two white rabbits, who have free range of the garden and are quite domesticated.

Where is it?

Mowbray is an area with the University of Cape Town and three hospitals (Groote Schuur, Red Cross Childrens Memorial and Mowbray Maternity). It therefore has some senior student residences, and mostly academic and medical people living in the area. Very settled and established community, with lots of shops and restaurants. There are also walks along the Liesbeek River and around Rondebosch Common. Very central location to all freeways. City centre very accessible (5km) by public transport as well.
