About our home

We own the second floor of a glass-fronted commercial building which my architect husband has converted into a spacious modern loft apartment. We have parking spaces on the ground floor. The font facade has views of the central City and Table Mountain. Our guest bedroom opens up onto the patio at the back with view of Lion's Head. Our open-plan living space is ideal for entertaining.

Neighbourhood

We live one block away from the central business district of Cape Town, which is tucked in between Table Mountain and the sea. Our area is called the Bo-Kaap- Upper Cape, as it is locatdd on the slopes of Signal Hill. Bo-Kaap is a traditionally Malay area with picturesque brightly coloured houses. Ours is a modern commercial building which my architect husband has converted into a loft apartment. It is 7 minutes' drive to the cable car which takes you to the top of the "table" on top of the mpuntain, and about 10 minutes'drivd to the beach. You need only walk across the road to reach Bree Street with its selection of restaurants, boutiques and night spots. The Company Gardens, which is surrounded by the Oarliament buildings, National Art Gallery and Natural History Museum are about 6 minutes' walk away.

Cool bars
Anything on Bree or Kloof Streets, Power and the Glory, Open Wine, Botanicals Bar

Walks in the park
Wander around in the Bo-Kaap on your own or join a guided walk. There are dozens of amazing hikes on Table Mountain or stroll along the Promenade in Sea Point.
Spot of exercise
Hike up Table Mountain or Lion's Head, kayak on the sea, stand-up paddkeboarding on the Waterfront canals
