About our home

LOOKING FOR SWAPS IN USA (N-W & NYC) MAY 2016! Two years ago we packed up our life in suburbia iso we could enjoy our city like tourists and have that year-round holiday feeling! We chose Tamboerskloof for its central location, its easy access to the mountain and beaches, its character and history, the VIEWS, the ability to walk our neighbourhood, and its proximity to Kloof, Bree and Long streets (the best restaurants and bars).

It is REALLY tough to find property in Tamboerskloof, but we struck gold with our apartment. We were blown away by its spaciousness, the light, and the most breathtaking views. These are the perks of being on the top floor of a small (9 units) and quiet block. We enjoy sunrises, moonrises, Table Mountain in all its splendour, the CBD, harbour, and the West Coast... from our sofa and bed.

Kloof Street (aka 'restaurant mile’) is a 5 minute walk from Tamboerskloof, and Bree Street is not much further (think artisan: bakeries, cocktails, butchers, cheese, etc.). For fresh air we head up Lion's Head (a must!) and cool off at our secret beach. Both are only minutes from our home by car or bus. You can get around on-foot, via the "MyCiTi" bus or Uber.

The details:
We have a garage, if required.
We have a washer, dryer and dishwasher.
Our cleaner, Gertrude, comes twice a week (we love her).
We have high speed, uncapped wifi.
We have great knives and good cookware.
Our bed is brand new, with a down duvet and cotton percale linen.
We have a fold up 6-seater table, perfect for al fresco dining on the balcony.
We have aircon.
We don't have an elevator (we're on the third floor).
We don't have a TV - when we're not looking out the window, we stream Netflix and Hulu to our devices.
We have a shower only.
We absolutely love living here.

*We are heading to the US in May 2016 and we're looking for short stays in NYC, Oregon (Portland, Eugene) and San Francisco.*
*Our home is available for Easter 2016 for a non-simultaneous swap.*
