About our home

Our beautiful home lies on the side of the mountain overlooking the Fish Hoek valley, about 30 km from the centre of one of the most exquisite cities of the world - Cape Town. The house surrounds a large swimming pool with utmost privacy and has three bedrooms opening on to the pool area and garden. The two smaller bedrooms each have a single bed and plenty of cupboard space. There is a family bathroom with a spa bath, toilet and family washing machine. The parental bedroom has a queen size bed and private bathroom with bath and toilet. The lounge is sunken and opens out on to the sparkling pool and well manicured garden. There is a large fireplace for the cold winter evenings. The separate dining room is open plan to the modern and bright kitchen where there is a fridge freezer, pantry and dishwasher.

More about us

My partner and I have 3 grown up children of 28, 23 and 19. I am a retired airline pilot and owner of an aviation training organisation while my partner is the owner of a two-way radio company. My job has allowed our family to travel to many destinations and the home exchange program offers us even more opportunity to do what we love.

Where is it?

Fish Hoek is one of South Africa's oldest villages and remains a laid back town within reach of all of Cape Town's many activities. Now a suburb of Cape Town, it boasts a picturesque beach known as one of the best swimming beaches in the Cape and lies near a rail link that can take one to a large number of places in the province. Other surrounding beaches include the surfing haven of Noordhoek and further afield: Hout Bay, Llandudno, and the glamourous beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay. Within a 5 km radius of our home, visitors can hike and mountain bike in the surrounding mountains, swim in the warm Indian Ocean and sunbathe on the beach. The shops in Fish Hoek are 5 minutes away by car, offering every convenience including restaurants as well as cinemas and the adjacent suburb of Kalk Bay offers popular bohemian shopping and cuisine as well as a seaside vibrancy. Simon's Town - another adjacent suburb - is a historic naval town rich in character. Cape Town Central by car will take 30-45 minutes and provides the visitor with international standard restaurants, clubs, shops, nightlife and entertainment.
