About our home

Our three-bedroom family home has plenty of space for entertaining and relaxing. It overlooks the tree-filled garden, pool and nearby golf-course and park, with a glimpse of the famous Nahoon surfing beach and canoe club between the dunes. There are many wonderful outdoor activities on the coast, rivers and inland nature and game reserves.

Sue is a high school teacher and counsellor; Gavin is a freelance writer and editor; Simon is studying architecture; William is in high school, plays horn. We all enjoy travel, reading, arts and outdoor living. We love walking along the coast or hiking in the mountains and take any opportunity to visit the unspoilt beaches of the Wild Coast which is 100kms north of EL.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

East London is midway between Cape Town and Durban on the east coast of South Africa. Daily flights to all main centres. Port Elizabeth 360km, Durban 650km, Bloemfontein 500km, Wild Coast, game parks etc within 100km; Amatola and Drakensberg Mountains inland. Hiking, mountain biking, canoeing etc. etc. There are also many historic sights to visit as the Eastern Cape was involved in many frontier wars between the local Xhosa and the British and many towns in the area have strong German connections.
