About our home
Our lovely 3 bedroom house (we use one bedroom as a study but it could accommodate an extra person on a sleeper couch) is located on a very secure, exclusive golf estate in Somerset West, just 30 minutes from Cape Town. We directly overlook the neighboring wine estate and the superb mountains beyond - a brilliant vista! Both bedrooms have king-size beds (we can set up the 2nd bedroom with 2 singles if required) and have en-suite bathrooms. There is another shower room attached to the study. The kitchen is very well equipped (I love to cook!) and there is a spacious open-plan living/dining area and an outside patio and small garden. A private plunge pool completes the picture. The house is all on one level - just one small step at the entrance and may be suitable for mobility-restricted visitors.

Perfectly situated for visiting so many great places including Vergegelen (just next door!) with its stunning garden and secular camphor trees, attractive Stellensboch, the Dylan Lewis gardens and sculptures, Vergenoegd vineyard with its wonderful parade of runner ducks that are used as a natural control of pests and bugs in their vines and so many more.........Communication with Bridget was easy and the home was as described. comfortable bed, nice kitchen and restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Where is it?
Neighbourhood
Our home is located on a secure gated residential golf estate surrounded by wineries and mountains, but is just 10 minutes from excellent shopping and a wide variety of restaurants. In fact, there are at least four winery restaurants less than 5 minutes from our gate! It will take you around 15 min to drive to the local shopping mall where there are cinemas and many restaurants and shops of all descriptions. A 15 minute drive will get you to the beautiful beach at The Strand where you can go for long walks or swim in the ocean. Wonderfully atmospheric winery villages like Stellenbosch and Franschoek are around 30 - 40 minutes away and you can also reach Cape Town City Center in about the same time.
