Lis's reviewsAs a host (3)
“We stayed for 5 nights in Lis'es house in Franschhoek last February.. The property is a new build and is very comfortable and spacious and the kitchen is very well equipped.. Lis made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived and nothing was too much trouble. The house is convenient to Franschhoek with its numerous restaurants, lovely shops not to mention all the wine farms. For an evening out in Franschhoek I would recommend you either get a taxi or a tuk tuk. Lis made our stay in Franschhoek really enjoyable. ”
“This was the perfect location to explore the wine region. And thanks to our very accommodating hosts we had the Best time ! I hope we can return in the near future.”

The Franschhoek valley was originally settled in 1688 by French Huguenot refugees, many of whom were given land by the Dutch government in a valley called Olifantshoek (Elephants Corner) because of the vast herds of elephants that roamed the area. The name was later changed to Franschhoek. Many of the settlers named their new farms after the areas in France from which they came, such as La Motte, Provence, Chamonix, and La Dauphine. These farms have grown into renowned Franschhoek wineries today.
