About our home

Fransmanshuijs is a luxurious hilltop farmhouse, located on a historic farm in picturesque Stellenbosch. Here, amidst vineyard-clad slopes and majestic mountain ranges you will find a true sanctuary where you can just be – a home from home. Explore the farm on foot, get lost in orchards and the Renosterveld fynbos fields. Hop on your mountain bike and adventure on the local routes or take a swim in one of the farm dams. Here you’ll have the space to roam free, away from the city bustle.

More about us

We are an adventurous couple (Piet and Izette) with two kids, aged 9 and 12. (Johan and Elsje) My husband is a 6th generation-farmer. If he is not busy on the farm, you will find him on his mountain bike, cycling at the nearby mountains or on the MTB routes on the farm. I am a florist, who loves to create anything beautiful and runs two wedding and events venues and a guest house on the farm. Our home language is Afrikaans and our kids attend a local primary school in Stellenbosch.
We live on a working fruit farm, (160 hectares ) with our 2 x dogs, 2 x cats, 1 x rabbit and 17 x chickens. We farm with mostly wine grapes, soft citrus, blue berries and plums.
We love cooking and entertaining our friends and families with long lazy lunches on our outside patio . Hosting and meeting new people is a great passion of mine, the house that we listed on the site, is not our primary residence, and we hire it out as a guest house.
