We live in Cape Town with our two grown up daughters. We love the outdoors, particularly sailing, boating and anything to do with the ocean. We also love African bush holidays. We are also hosts so we understand that it is important to respect a home that we stay in and treat it as we would expect someone to treat ours!
Our home is a contemporary living-space with breathtaking views. Fully equipped with all the necessary household appliances (washing machine, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, gas hob, electric oven, 3 x TV's, airconditioners in 2 bedrooms Nespresso machine - with a few pods to start you off with, smoothie machine, weber barbeque. A crystal clear pool overlooks the beautiful Table Bay. 3 bedrooms en-suites (1 x king bed, 2 x Queen beds and one 3/4 bed in bedroom 3 with the queen bed) Within walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, parks and the promenade of the Atlantic Seaboard. Close proximity to the CBD, V&A Waterfront and 10 mins away from Blue Flag beaches. It's an easy to live in home open-planned home with a permanent holiday feel. The beauty of our homes position is that we are situated in a trendy, bustling neighbourhood but the house is situated high up on Signal Hill so you can escape to a bit of quiet and enjoy the breathtaking views. If you want to enjoy the atmosphere of the area, it is in within easy reach. A beautiful promenade stretches along the Atlantic Seaboard, ideal for walking, cycling and running. The V&A Waterfront is close by too.
Easy to walk to shops, restaurants, and stores but you may want to take a taxi back up the hill. Easy taxi services and UBER operate in our area and we are close to the Myciti bus route. We are happy to provide a 5 seater car in the swop in return for the same with our swop (additional insurance requirements would apply). A list of basic groceries required can be sent through and will be purchased on your behalf so the items are available on arrival at an additional cost. Our housekeeper will come to the house for a minimum 3 and max 4 days a week from 10am-2pm for a quick cleaning service. A full manual on the home will be supplied indicating security and alarm measures, instructions for the use of the TV, appliances, wifi, taxi services etc. We also provide a guide to our local restaurant favourites, grocery stores, farmers markets etc. Secure double garage parking for 2 x small cars and 1 street parking. House rules: Not suitable for children (2-12 years) and for infants (under 2 years) - uncovered pool and 1 flight of steep stairs with no rails, no pets, no smoking inside the house please and no big parties or events. Shoes to be removed for hard wood floors
We recycle and would like our guests to do the same
Hylton and I, Ingrid, have been married for 25 years with two daughters aged 18 and 21
We are in publishing, marketing and sailing event management
We love watersports, the ocean, hiking, safari’s. We love traveling as if we were locals, staying away from resort-type holidays. We love to explore the local area and eat and live like locals.
