About our home

Our comfortable beach house has the best setting ever - it is truly on the beautiful sandy unspoilt beach of Herolds Bay, with life guards during the holidays & summer weekends for safe playing in perfect waves, surfing, body boarding, building sand castles, picking up shells, supersafe tidal pool, hiking coastal trails & seeing whales (July-Sept) and dophins (summer). It is 5 min from Oubaai Gholf Estate designed by Ernie Els, 15km from George, in the heart of the beautiful Garden Route, where you will find from quaint to chic restaurants and shops. Attractions within an hour's drive include train rides, hiking, biking, visiting an ostrich farm, the Cango Caves, wine farms, strawberry picking, paragliding, bird sanctuary, elephant sanctuary, treetop canopy tours, canoeing, boating to an oyster seafarm for truly fresh oysters, an old gold mine, canoeing etc. Pleasant temperatures summer 25-33C and very mild, sunny winters with 18-25 as day temperatures. Seldom too cold or too hot, with very little wind. Herold's Bay is 450km form Cape Town (an easy 5 hour drive) and 350km from Port Elizabeth (an easy 3-4 hour drive)
