About our home

Noordhoek (part of the Southern Peninsula) is a relaxed and laid back community nestled at the back of Table Mountain in a valley surrounded by mountains and the sea. You will find many runners, cyclists (road and mountain) and horse riders enjoying the beautiful environment. The enticing Noordhoek farm village has exceptional restaurants, night markets and live music entertainment. Noordhoek is a 30 minute drive to the main City Centre of Cape Town where you can explore the renowned V & A Waterfront, Sea Point Promenade, bars, restaurants and nightlife and the well known beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay. Cape Town is regarded as one of the world's most beautiful cities with access to stunning beaches, world-renowned wine farms, excellent restaurants, bars and entertainment, walks, runs and biking, all within an hour of our home.

We live in a gated eco-security estate (Lake Michelle). We love to leave all the front doors and windows wide open, night and day, to enjoy the sounds of the water and the bird-life. Our house is at the end of a secluded close and right on the waters edge. As we are the last house on a promontory, the home is very private and feels like you are on your own island, complete with 2 established palm trees. Access the fresh water lake from our private jetty - swim, fish, and kayak and enjoy the spectacular view of Chapman's peak while fish jump out of the water in front of you and birds/ducks fly or swim across the lake.

The house itself is modern and open plan, with large, sun-protected, glass stacking doors in the living, dining room and main bedroom areas to maximise the feeling of being integrated with the garden and the lake. The well equipped kitchen opens onto the dining and living area to maximise the flow of integrated living. Three bedrooms, all en-suite (king main bedroom, queen 2nd room, and 2 single beds in the 3rd room) and a separate study/TV room with a leather sofa bed (queen) that is very comfortable as extra sleeping space. Guest toilet. 2 lovely covered patios - the first with an outside table (seats 10 for enjoying dining overlooking the lake) and equipped with a Weber gas barbecue and the second, a relaxed and comfortable veranda with sofas for evening cocktails overlooking the pool and lake.

Independent water and electricity(solar) supply.

Integrated Bowers & Wilkens home music system that is controlled via your mobile device. The system provides for independently managed music and volume in each zone. Speakers are both internal (kitchen and dining room) and external - both of the patios have sets of twin speakers.

The TV room has been upgraded with a state of the art home theatre system incorporating Gallo acoustics audiophile grade satellite monitors, paired with a Marantz AV receiver and a Bowers & Wilkens compact sub-woofer for remarkable TV viewing. The smart TV system is paired to the internet for viewing that includes Netflix and Showmax plus all DSTV channels.

The main bedroom has an independent smart TV that is also paired to the internet with the same viewing options as the main TV room

Main bedroom has a Samsung air-conditioning system.

The well-equipped kitchen includes :

Large electric oven and gas stove plus Bosch extractor system
Nespresso coffee machine
Independent system that provides instant, filtered boiling and cold water (no kettle required)
Large kitchen fridge and freezer with ice maker and filtered cold water
Cultery and crockery for at least 10 guests

A tefcold dual temperature wine fridge, 2 separate Bar fridges, plus second large fridge in the adjoining garage

Austrian fireplace that keeps the home warm throughout the winter months.

Automatic garden irrigation system to ensure that professionally landscaped garden and lawn are always green.

Indian canoe, 2 stand up paddle boards and a kayak available at the house.
