Neighbourhood

Observatory has an alternative, bohemian vibe and a large student population. Shops in Victorian buildings sell used vinyl, vintage clothes and New Age books, and there are plenty of cool cafes, global eateries, laid-back pubs, sports bars and indie concert venues. Heart of Cape Town Museum tells the story of the world’s first successful heart transplant in the hospital where it was performed.
