A double storey Greek styled home with spectacular views overlooking the Botriver Lagoon. The house is beautifully decorated in a Greek style sea-side theme, with built in cupboards throughout. The property is a large property (1600 m2) with boardwalks throughout the garden. The house is surrounded by verandas and so you will always find a great spot to barbecue or relax, whether it is overlooking the lagoon or beside our private mountain pool with flowing fountains. The place is secure with panic alarm systems and with armed response (not that we have ever needed them). For the kids, the property includes a secure play park and small Wendy house as well as a tree house. The pool is secured and kid safe. The gardens are well cared for and lawns are cut weekly.
We are Marc and Chimene, a married couple with one pre-teenager. We are both young and energetic people with busy fun schedules and a few serious hobbies (golf, Harley's, walking, running, artist, programming). We do enjoy traveling when we are able to get away. We have not done a home exchange before but are keen to try what sounds a great way to see another country as a resident - and allow someone to see yours. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay in the South Africa.
A quite holiday retreat with plenty of fun things to do around, from golfing, to walks in the mountains or relaxing on the beaches in the surf. The area is sprinkled with a number of wine estates and the rides and the scenery here is breathtaking. The whales come and visit each year very close to the shoreline and you can also do shark diving locally. This really is the place where the Capetonians sneak off to to enjoy a quite weekend away from the city. There are also plenty of restaurants and good sea food to choose from. The local market (every day) also boasts African artifacts galore!
