About our home

Our one-of-a-kind home in the heart of South Africa's famed winelands is the perfect place to unwind and explore all that the Cape has to offer. A completely private home situated on a small holding in the beautiful Jonkershoek valley. With a large open plan kitchen, dining and living room, all providing breathtaking views thanks to expansive windows, it is an entertainer's dream. There are four double bedrooms within the main house, and an additional studio flatlet adjoined, with its own private access. Enjoy the warm weather outside by the resort style pool, with an outdoor barbecue and fire pit overlooking our beautiful, large garden, and Stellenbosch's luscious vineyards. The entire property has electrified ring fencing, with 24 hour security on call. The property manager lives in a separate cottage on the small holding. The house has ample lower ground parking.

More about us

  1. We're a family of five, with 3 kids all at university in Australia. We've lived across the world, and love exploring new places together. We've spent the last ten years living by the sea in Spain, and with all the kids out the house, we are now looking to spend our time travelling more.

  2. Tracy is South African/British and Klaus is from Switzerland, and the kids are a good mix of the two!

  3. We love the peace and quiet, but enjoy the hustle and bustle of city life from time to time.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Stellenbosch is home to a beautiful Cape Dutch town centre, less than 10 minutes by car from our home. With multiple award winning wine farms in the area, some of South Africa's best and most beloved wines are produced on our doorstep, with Lanzerac just across the road. Our house is nestled in the Jonkershoek valley, with the nature reserve at the end of the Jonkershoek road offering hikes, with two splendid waterfalls both easily reached by foot, and kilometres of mountain biking trails. Stellenbosch itself is a thriving University town, with various boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. to meet the needs of the whole family. A recently renovated mall houses multiple supermarkets and other larger name stores. If you're looking for more, Cape Town is just a 45 minute drive away. Worried about access to the beach? The seaside town of Strand can be reached in half an hour, with, Gordon's Bay and Koel Bay all also easily accessible by car.

Buzzy restaurants
From sushi to steak in the town centre, to fine dining at the Delaire Graff Estate, just around the corner, choice is plenty!
Cool bars
With a vibrant bar scene, spend the evening sipping on local favourites at Stellenbosch's wine bars.
Cozy cafés
Stellenbosch's quaint town centre is home to many cafes. If you're feeling adventurous, head to the Hillcrest Berry orchards for some fresh fruit and a spot of tea.
Retail therapy
Stop in one of Stellenbosch's boutiques, otherwise Cape Town is home to multiple shopping destinations, including Cavendish Square and the V&A Waterfront.
Bit of culture
Most of the big wine farms offer outdoor concerts during the summer time, with carols by candlelight being a particularly memorable one!
Walks in the park
Stroll through the Stellenbosch botanic gardens, or if you're after more, Kirstenbosch is a short drive away.
Day tripping
Visit Franschhoek for some more wine farms and a quaint Huguenoet style village oozing old world charm. Or head to Cape Town, home to Table Mountain, Robben Island and much more.
